Air France begins scheduled flights to Maldives

Air France has begun scheduled flights to Maldives.

The first flight landed today at Velana International Airport and was given a warm welcome.

French Ambassador to Maldives Jeane Marine, Economic Minister Saeed, senior officials of Air France and senior officials of MACL took part in the ceremony held to welcome the first flight.

Speaking at the ceremony CEO of MACL, Adil Moosa said that this will benefit tourism and trade of Maldives. He said that this will also connect Maldives and other European countries and hence the number of tourists to Maldives will increase.

In addition Adil Moosa talked about the massive airport development project that is being conducted by the government.
