An association given permission to conduct aviation recreation in Maldives

An association has been given permission to conduct aviation recreation in Maldives.

Association of Sky Sports Maldives (ASSSM) was given the permission to conduct aviation recreational activities in a ceremony held today. Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer handed over the permit to the association while, President of ASSSM Mohammed Latheef accepted it on behalf of the association.

The association was given permission to conduct paragliding for a period of 2 years with the possibility of renewal at the end of the period. Those who are interested in such activities can coordinate with the association and conduct aviation recreational activities.

Such activities will have a positive impact on tourism as well since a large area of Maldives consists of the sea. In addition it will create new jobs and business opportunities as well. This is the first time an association has been given permission to conduct aviation related recreational activities on a long-term basis.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief Executive of Civil Aviation Authority Hussein Jaleel, senior figures of the authority, officials of the tourism ministry and senior officials of ASSM.
